Date: 2nd Spring Holiday Week, 12. – 15. April, Monday till Thursday
Time: Daily 16:00 – 18:00
Recommended age: 7 – 10
This online based learning activity is available for the first or second week of the spring holidays. An experienced tutor engages live the students working from home in a digitale collaboration space like Microsoft Teams. Our aspiration is to work with a group of up to 8 students to provide a valuable experience for everyone.
Minecraft: Education Edition offers an engaging platform for computer science education, with features designed to help students learn to code, and apply coding across STEM subjects. In this activity we will learn foundational Computer Science concepts and build computational thinking skills.
With first steps into coding and computational thinking we will program our little Minecraft robot to automate the building of huge structures, large fortresses and deep tunnel systems. And if you want to get as advanced as possible in Minecraft, Redstone logic is where it’s at. Doors that automatically open, switch-controlled lights, farms that harvest themselves, smart as it can be.
A Coding Club student account for the Digitaltutor learning platform is included for the duration of the activity. This administered cloud service comprises student licences for Microsoft Teams, Minecraft Education Edition, codeSpark and other child friendly education apps.
